Join Our Teaching Team

Merbabies are looking for extraordinary people to become part of the Merbabies family and inspire our next generation of swimmers. We know that to see the face of a child that has just managed to accomplish something for the first time, or the pride of a parent as they watch their child achieve in the pool is priceless.

Teachers are the ones who create a really special experience and many happy memories for our customers so we are looking for very special people to join the team.

The Role

Teaching parents and children from birth to preschool the Merbabies child-led ethos of teach with love and learn through play swimming programmes. The teaching classes are 100% pool based so you will need to love being in the water.

Full training is provided including your level 2 swim teacher qualification if you don’t already hold this.

Merbabies teachers work on average between 5 to 15 hours per week on self-employed basis, during school terms time, fitting teaching around either study, other work or family life. Pay rate is £22.50 per hour on a self-employed basis. We are flexible on working hours to fit in with your personal requirements considering our swim class schedule although you will need to work at least one weekend session (typically minimum of 3 hours).2.5
